Not just for dogs...can be used to keep toddlers from trying to escape, too. lolWhere was this when I had a dog who I always had to block with my feet/legs when I opened the door? lol She even made it through and escaped a few times. I had a hard time trying to find her in the neighborhood. This couldve really saved me the hassle!! If your dog is as wild as mine when the door opens, you need this!!!The gate is really good quality. It is metal and strong- not to thin, not too thick. The height is about the same height of my 3 year old daughter so I feel like that is tall enough to keep most dogs from jumping over it.Installation wasnt too hard. But I do suggest that before you drill any holes, do a practice run. They provide adhesive strips but honestly, I dont think using those would be secure enough because this gate is metal & has weight to it. So, I used those adhesive for my practice run. I also used an inch thick book to place the gate on top off so didnt have to do any measurements. It's suggested to have it installed approx 1" or more off the ground. The book helped me with that. Use the adhesive to position the latches. Then latch on the gate and open and shut the door a few times. If it feels good to you, then I suggest you drill the latches onto the door/frame. It took me a few times to find what position felt right but i finally got it. And Im very happy with how it works.Now, I can answer my door without doing the leg move to keep our dogs inside and from running away.Would recommend!

We have two dogs and every time the doorbell rings, it's a race to the door to open it before they try to run out. I have been looking at these types of gates for awhile now, so I was super excited to try this one. The gate is sturdy and the metal is not flimsy. The overall quality is good and the gate is lightweight. The instructions weren't difficult, but I was glad they were included because the steps need to be followed in a specific order. I don't love that it has to be screwed into the door and wall because that will be something I need to repair when I remove the gate one day. The gate retracts and folds nicely and stores away when not in use. Since it is almost 3 feet tall, it works for small dogs as well as large dogs.

This retractable metal barrier is better than I expected for a front door gate. I've used the flimsier mesh style gates before, and my German Shepherd puppy chewed through those in a week, so I was looking for something much sturdier. I installed this right on the door frame (it was an easy setup) and the metal construction has been completely bite resistant so far. It's fantastic for when the doorbell rings or I need to talk to a neighbor, the way it hangs up and doesn't take up any floor space is brilliant.

This is a great barrier for the door which most definitely prevents the dot from getting out and also the toddler.It‘s a nice sturdy design and it folds away to wonderfully that it doesn’t actually get in the way at all.Installation was a breeze, but it does require making holes in your door frame and door, which is understandable.

Good quality door barrier gate. Easy install and works well. Sturdy and tall so even bigger dogs are held back.
